How Beautiful Are the Feet

Romans 10:13-15 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Feet of the messengers of Jesus are consider beautiful. In many foreign lands the gospel is still a forbidden commodity; Bibles still illegal. Thus, for one to come carrying the good news of the gospel into these lands, people in gratitude, fall at the feet of the messengers, so thankful to be able to receive the Word of God.

A friend of mine who's name will remain unspoken, speaks of a time when she went to share the gospel in a foreign land. Once she arrived at her destination, a lady came running fell before her, and begin to kiss her feet with tears pouring down her cheeks.

My friend told this dear lady to arise and worship Jesus alone, explaining that she was simply the messenger who carried the gospel message. But to this precious foreign lady, those feet were so beautiful. Feet that came with the Word of God. Feet that carried Hope, health, prosperity; feet that carried the way of salvation through Christ Jesus.

The Bible speaks of another lady who came with tears for beautiful feet.

John 12:3 ...Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Mary was expressing her love for Jesus, just as the lady who bowed at the feet of my dear friend, both overwhelmed at the goodnes
s of God in flesh form. Someone had came to deliver them, to see to it that the God of peace bruised Satan underfoot.

Every time we rise to walk, our feet are set to carry us somewhere, for some purpose. When you arise, where will your feet carry you? Where ever it is, be sure to shod them with the gospel of peace before you go ... it is a matter of life or death!
