How well is your house built?
Proverbs 24:3-4 amplified
Through skillful and Godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established (on a sound and good foundation), And by knowledge shall its chambers (of every area) be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Success comes not by chance, but by careful management and godly counsel. Our lives and families, should each be built upon God's Word foundation. We are told in Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Wisdom builds on a solid foundation. The Word of God is Solid. That Word is the foundation upon which we should build and with understanding of the Word are established in our faith.
Once the foundation is laid, and our faith established it is time to move on in the knowledge of the Lord that our house might be filled with all that is good and perfect. Hosea said, that we are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Hosea was not saying that knowledge was not available, it was because available knowledge was rejected.
Ho 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Knowledge comes from obeying God's instruction. When God tries to instruct us through His written Word that is forever established, or through the person of the Holy Ghost who aligns and agrees with the written Word, and we refuse, or reject it ... destruction is sure to follow. Knowledge refused is like the man who built upon the sands.
Matthew 7:26-27
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Knowledge received, instructions obeyed brings great riches into our lives. Therefore, let us be Like the Wise man who built his house upon the Rock. When the winds blew and the rains came ... (the storms of life), both He and His House were left standing.
Luke 6:47-49
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
